Sauvignon Blanc Release event
Saturday, March 27, 2010

We’re having a release day event from noon until 4pm on Saturday, March 27, at the tasting room in Healdsburg. Chef Mike Matson from Vintage Valley Catering is pairing our 2009 SB with grilled shrimp and pineapple/citrus salsa served on a crispy tortilla chip. Like its predecessors, the 2009 Sauvignon Blanc loves to be paired with citrus, goat cheeses, and Asian inspired dishes.

We’re also debuting our first Rosé ever. We’ll be offering our 2009 Rosé of Syrah, paired with grilled chicken sausage on ciabatta bread, topped with a remoulade sauce. We are so proud of this Rosé: notes of strawberry and tropical fruit, dry, aromatic, lovely! And the color—beautiful. We only made 85 cases of this Rosé. We’ve already sold 12 cases in just one week. Stop by for some hors d’oeuvres and a sample of our new 2009 releases. We’d love to see you—Saturday, March 27, 2010 between noon and 4pm. Don’t miss out on these spectacular wines—they’ll go quickly. Come and join us soon.

Sonoma County Harvest Fair
October 3-4, 2009 (Public Tasting)

The 2009 Sonoma County Harvest Fair was a big success for us again this year! 238 Wineries participated in this year’s wine competition, and the judging panel sampled over 1,400 different wines! Here’s how we did:

2006 Tableau – BRONZE MEDAL

2007 Treborce Vineyard, Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel – GOLD MEDAL

2007 Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel – DOUBLE GOLD MEDAL

2006 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon – GOLD MEDAL, BEST OF CLASS (our ’05 Cab won last year too, so our cab has been chosen best of Sonoma two years in a row!)

FYI, the medals are awarded by varietal and price categories. Medals are awarded to wines according to set standards, so there can be more than one gold medal per category, if there are several wines that meet “gold medal standards.” DOUBLE GOLD occurs rarely, and only by unanimous decision among the judges. BEST OF CLASS is only given to one wine in the price category, and it is the most coveted award.

2009 Sonoma Wine Country Weekend
September 4-6, 2009 (Labor Day Weekend).

3 days, 200 wineries and chefs! One unforgettable Sonoma experience. We invite you to an epicurean event like no other—Sonoma Wine Country Weekend. Enjoy three unforgettable days of wine and food, including exclusive winemaker lunches and dinners, the 30th Annual Showcase: TASTE of Sonoma, and the 17th Annual Sonoma Valley Harvest Wine Auction presented by Trilogy Glass & Packaging.

Hauck Cellars poured alongside more than 150 other wineries and 60 local chefs at the 30th Annual Showcase TASTE of Sonoma, which took place at MacMurray Ranch in Healdsburg. For information about next year's event, visit SonomaWineCountryWeekend.com or call 800-939-7666.

Art by Cory Hakola
Aug 1-31, 2009

A fabulous exhibit of oil and acrylic paintings by local artist, Cory Hakola. Cory’s work shows influences from Mondrian, Hopper, Rothko, Close and Edo period Japanese art. Currently, Cory’s artistic intention is to offer the viewer options that will provide a different viewing experience, dependent upon the proximity at which the paintings are seen. Upon close inspection, individual grid formed paintings compete for the viewer’s attention; while from a distance, the subject is revealed in its entirety.
